All Conan books by Robert E. Howard

Don’t know Conan? No problem, if you still don’t know this fantastic character, we tell you his story and the wonderful novels that tell it.

The Conan books are usually classified as heroic fantasy or sword and sorcery, although they have also been classified as “realistic fantasy”. They are based on the character Conan the Barbarian created by Robert E. Howard.

They have been written by numerous authors and include novels and short stories, which were later merged to create multiple combinations after multiple publishers. After the suicide of its creator (in 1936) the character was used by other writers such as Poul Anderson, Leonard Carpenter, Lin Carter, L. Sprague de Camp, Roland J. Green, John C. Hocking, Robert Jordan, Sean A. Moore, Björn Nyberg, Andrew J. Offutt, Steve Perry, John Maddox Roberts, Harry Turtledove or Karl Edward Wagner.

Some of these writers finished Howard’s incomplete works, or rewrote Howard’s original stories. In total more than 50 novels and dozens of short stories not written by Howard contain Conan as a main character. Several editions are described here:
